Now I've never bought any nendoroids except for the mini nendoroids I reviewed last time and the minis I gave away in the contest.And I have to say I'm pretty happy with this one. And I'm concidering buying a few more from different series..

While the small ones have their own cuteness they lack in details. And that is what these have.

Detail....

Its about 10cm high (thats about 4 inches) and it comes with 3 different faces, removable pumpkin skirt and 3 extra arms in different poses.

It has an ingenius stand on which she rests with her legs and skirt. In the case you are perverted enough to want her stand in her underwear you can use the alternative stand which snaps around her legs and buttox. They could have added a small manual with that one... I got it but I can imagine some people might not.

You may want to glue the wings to the figurine as they come of pretty easily. I've nearly lost
one already.

Anyway it is going to be sitting on my desk at work. Where it might brighten up my work day a
little more.( I will add pictures later)

There is also a full sized figurine of Melissa. Unfortunatly it is either out of stock or you have

She's in a pose looking backwards reajusting her simsuit as it obviously has gone places it
shouldn't have. The swimsuit has a bit of a wetlook to it.

The paint and sculpt are awesome. Especially in the hands/fingers and swimsuit department...
It does have a bit of a balance issue though.It does come with a base to set it on but it isn't
that great for the stability of the figurine.

I've also seen a drawing featuring yuki in a very similar position in front of a mirror. Maybe
its usefull to position it in front of a small mirror for a bit of support...

It also looks nice while resting on her back on your macbook. Which totally takes care of her
stability issues.

A version her reading on a chair , and a version with her fighting... Probably goes well with the ryoko figurine

Haruhi
A drunk beercan weilding card playing version and an ashamed version. Probably due to excessive drinking.

Mikuru
Comes in 3 versions... Maid outfit ashamed with a tear, A maid outfit and a broom, and in a green frog outfit with a lemon .... I have no idea what this is about but it is probably a reference to something japanesey. That one is also the secret figurine in this set.

I can be pretty short about this set ...
These figurines are awesome .. but all out of stock everywhere I googled.

This figurine is not for the youngsters So its marked "18+" Please do not click on beyond this point if you are under the age of 18.

It has a removable skirt and apron and a little cloth so it can wipe your glass showcase from the inside.... The skirt removed reveals some fine lace underwear. Her clothing is latexy/lacker and the paintjob on the gloves is awesome. Her nipples and boobs show really well through the obvious "wetlook" of her top... This one is not for the kiddies but decent enough that you don't have to remove it when your folks come to visit. Her stockings and gloves have a little glossy to them.. very nice detail...

Neon Genesis Evangelion  Extra School SwimSuit Rei & Asuka figurines.

These figurines are made of awesome and win !  I've liked the work of the artist that designed these figurines for some time now and to have these on my shelves is pretty wicked.

Lets start off with the Rei figurine. The thing is I already have a very similar figurine (which you can see at http://www.shortner.com/1rs ) Its as detailed as the other one but a bit smaller.. and the base differs somewhat in form. She's sitting on a #2 startbase for a swimmingpool.  She's wearing a white swimsuit with "Rei" written on it and blue socks. Which makes no sence what-so-ever...Apart from the fact that there is also a version with a blue swimsuit and white socks! She has a gloomy look on her face which gives off the Rei vibe while still maintaining its "cuteness".
 
Next up: the Asuka figurine. This figurine shows the artist has a bit of an obsession with swimsuits. He has obviously figured out how they should be drawn. ... right onward.... She's holding one of those foam swim training boards behind her back. She's also sporting a white school swimsuit but this time "asuka" is written on it. And her hairstyle even looks like Asuka... The key for her locker is on her ankle. The obligatory bandaid on the knee to finish it off perfectly. Oh and don't forget her canine tooth and blushes.
 

Overall I think these figures should be purchased together. They compliment each other and honestly I think they should have come as a set...

The finish and coloring is good. The odd color mixup once in a while...  There might be some residual modling debris around the hands and on the legs.. so be prepared to scrape them off.

This was also my first order from Play-Asia. I'm very happy with their delivery time... It took about 5 days to get from Hong kong to my home in the Netherlands.

My only problem I had was : I had to pay import tax and handling costs. Which summed up to another 34 euro extra for the entire package.

I normally order from archonia. Which is in Belgium. Since I don't have to pay taxes for anything imported from a fellow EU state they might come out a wee bit cheaper for me.

But I was quite surprised by the extra costs. Please note that this might also happen to you when you order outside your country.

Welcome to another figurine review.
This week I've got some Nendoroids lined up.

Lets start off with some basic information about Nendoroids.
Best way to discribe them in one word is "Chibi". They are manufactured by the Good Smile Company.

These are the Lucky star Nendoroids season 1 figurines. There are 11 of em ,ten are two versions of each main character:
Kagami
Tsukasa,
Miyuki
Akira
and Konata

But there is also a secret character added in... And that one is Minoru ! (the whacky assistent dude from lucky channel)

They are lovely 5 to 6 cm high figurines, Each of them has a perticular pose and face. The heads are interchangable and so are some of the other bodyparts....

As i'm not going to review each little figurine i'm just going to go over the highlights of the main attractions in the set...

Okay some highlights. First off the konata one with the innertube. That figurine is so moe it makes you'll crap chibis.  
The W shaped mouth and her squinting eyes ... damn another Chibi just flew out....

So next up is the shrine maiden Kagami figurine. Her outfit is a shrine maiden one... it looks so pretty. You can look at it at http://www.shortner.com/1PV

Next up is Miyuki .. Oh my that face with the glasses. So pretty.... She's wearing her school uniform and making one of those embarased "i did something stupid"   faces .. which contribute to the moe-ness of this collection..

And now for some general remarks about the collection,The figurines are pretty good. Major problem with them is that the paint doesn't stay where it is supposed to be. But for €4.95 .. what do you expect... They stand about 2.5" high. And since every character is featured twice in the set there is the great opportunity to put a set at work .

Anyway because I'm so happy with these figurines. That i ordered a whole batch of 12 figurines extra.  I'm going to make you the listener/reader happy with a set of 6 figurines. They come in random packs so i can't decide on which one you get. Now ofcource i can't give away 6 figurines to every listener.... But there is something you have to do ... the thing is ... My oh my is this a beautyful figurine. Its pretty, high quality, and mizugilishious. (is that a word?)She has pretty big eyes.... and a head antena. Brown hair. She's posed walking and avoiding something on the beach. Oh besides the front being very esthetically pleasing.. if you look at the back you see they didn't just forget that part.

Her swimsuit has some invasive properties. Okay lets continue on before I start making more weird jokes.. shall we?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this figurine. Its solid,pretty and the paint job is wicked.

You can reposition her head but the movement of that is limited... understandable if you see how big it is.

Her outfit is pretty decent. She also has the same stockings as I mentioned on the last review of mikuru.

Her face is more alive than the Mikuru one though. Something to brighten the mood.

With that said. You can all remember that "suitcase scene" where kyon's sister crawls into the suitcase to tag along. And this figurine has that same level of wrong. The head can also me moved into different angles.

She's also in a bunnysuit .. yet pink and no fishnet stockings. Because that would just be wrong. Her left hand can be replaced with one in another pose... Its a nice figurine but you should really only buy it if you plan on getting the rest of the set.. the figurine alone would set off an alarm bell or two either in customs or with your friends and relatives.

This is definitly not the cheaper Atelier sai figrines but one of the TOTALLY AWESOME WICKED figurines from Freeing.

Lets start from top to bottom. Her ears look like in the series. A bit roughed up lacquer-ish look. Her face has her trade mark "oh my god i'm going to lose my virginity,please be gentle" look.  The details on her face and hair are stunning.

She has a a little collar/choker and bowtie thats seperate from the rest of her "outfit". The bowtie also has the same lacquered look.

Her chest and belly are covered have the  leotard-ish or whatever you call it red bunny suit and a little puff on her bottoms... Her boobies look like they are about to fall out... As Haruhi clearly didn't bother to check Mikuru's "sizes". This also has the same lacquered look.... oooh shiny.

Her legs have REAL stockings. Which adds to the already absolutely phenomenal look.

One small booboo though. There was a small piece of damage to the stockings on her buttox. But its out of sight so not much of a problem.

But I'd have to say its pretty much all as advertised.

.. Clear up some space as its big ..really big.

This week i have a figurine of Saki Kasukabe from genshiken cosplaying as Ritsuko from Kujibiki Unbalance.

She looks a bit like Saki. She looks a lot happier than during the on the stage scene of her cosplaying as Ritsuko.

Her dress has the same type of fringes and its very true to the design of the cosplay outfit in the series. Nice touch on the little straps on her sides .

The helm comes loose so it has a display option of putting it on the floor next to her. Which is a nice touch. But that brings me to the main gripe about the figurine. The finishing of the hair on top of her head is bad. while the rest of the figurine looks great this part is kinda sucktastic.

The plus points are the dress which looks awesome and the bottom part of her hair outside of the helmet. And her face. There could have been some extra detail work on her shoes and on the base... but there is nothing wrong with a blank base.

She stands about 7" tall and its an OK figurine

This figurine is one of those cliche otaku figurines. Her signature helmet and hair are the only real things that define her as her. But hey its a figurine of her in a swimsuit. what could be better!? She's wearing one of those blue school swimsuits that is somewhat too tight. The required belly button dent is there as are the required folds and wrinkles. The swimsuit has a wet-look to it...

Very nice details on the hands face and helmet. And that helmet might be a reference to her german heritage.

She's about 20 cm high and She comes with a round plastic stand with her name and full title on it.

The avarage price online is about 30 euro. And the dollar prices are in about the same range. It is listed as discontinued but its

well worth spending some bucks on in backorder.

With its 25cm height and volptuous curves its an instant eye catcher. Just to get it out of the way she's got a big rack that would make Inoue from bleach jelous and thats the last thing I say about that. Its much different from most figurines as its quite heavy.(but thats mainly because she's a bit more filled
than the avarage female anime character. Her legs look like she could kick down a bank vault door with a single blow.

Her clothing is quite revealing but not too much. You could put this in the room and 90% of the people wouldn't even notice that. So its relatively "safe" for your room if you live with your parents. A big extra point for
the belly button dent in her tabbard... And ofcource for the shiny stockings. They didn't cheat on "non visible" parts either. Like you see in so many figurines. Also the little white socks and her shoes are very detailed. Bonus points for that.

Her face looks cute and fitting for the character. Her hair is also pretty detailed and looks pretty good. She even has a necklace with a little cross that is loose.. not glued to the figurine or molded with the figurine. A seperate piece. This is what is obvious about this figurine. The idea that someone spent time on making it. This is no rush job ....this is quality.

She comes with a wand and a plain plastic but very solid base.

This one was worth my money.

It was appearantly manufactured by a company named Enterbrain.
One site mentions it as manufacturer the other as distributor. Couldn't figure out the sculptor.

Today I'll be reviewing a figurine of a favorite character of many people including me.

Rei Ayanami.

I've been waiting for this gem in pre-order for over a month expecting it to be released somewhere in march....I was wrong... suddenly last friday i recieved an email saying they had it ... and 10 minutes later it was en-route to my adress. Wicked!

the figurine was designed by Shunya Yamashita (you may know him as a character designer from square enix for titles as FFX and other titles like valkerie profile2:silmeria) I actually own another figurine by his hand...

It was sculpted by Mitsumasa Yoshizawa. A guy that has a number of great looking figurines on its name.... Generally with very nice looking faces and georgious eyes. Anywhere from Eureka (eureka 7) to ryomo from ikki tousen. This guys knows what he's doing when it comes to sculpting.. though he should work on his own clothing a bit.

Back to the figurine.. It stands at about 26cm high ....thats (10.15" for you non metric people). Her plugsuit has been broken up into shorter bits like gloves,skimpy dress and thigh highs revealing more skin than ever before. Her face is phenomenal one of the best I've seen to date. This is mainly due to its designer I recon. I've seen a version of her online where she has an eyepatch which is the model kit version. But who would want to hide a part of a face as awesome as that.

Lets start from the ground up. The base she stands on. Made of clear plastic with her name on it and a figurine. The footing is somewhat odd as she comes with 2 small support stands that you put between her feet and the stand. She's also hard to attach to the stand.. But after you do its pretty solid.

Lets move up a bit. What a great pair of plastic legs. Her thigh highs make for an interesting rendering of everybodies favorite Rei. Now I haven't seen the new movie but if its anything like this.. its a movie I wanna see. Her tooshy looks great and it looks  just right. A bit sloppy work on the paint job though. Some minor smudges here and there could ruin it completely for a fanboi. But its easily fixable given ofcource you can find the right paint.

Her bodysuit is more like the original plugsuit. highly detailed abd comes with a glossy finish that makes the suit look like latex. She's got some propper cleavage and something that looks like a backpack of some sort.

Her arms have proper muscle tone not too much not too little.. just right. Her hands look great and as fragile as one would expect from a beauty like her.

Her face looks great. One of the main reasons I bought this gem. One of the key features on any of this designer's figurines are the faces. They speak. They look as if they are saying "Don't mess with me.. or i'll mess with you". 

I know one thing for certain. I'm gonna be on the look-out for more of this sculptor and designer.

Price: 30$ and euro for the modelkit and about $60 for the fully made figurine i've run into few sites that still have it in stock so I guess its a popular one. Get it while you can.

Hair looks good... The face looks nice and detailed. And the blush is a nice cute touch.But the Ears not that great.

Wellformed body nice details on the hands and legs. And ofcource her back and the obligatory bellybutton dent. Good pose .. looking over her shoulder to check if anybody can see her remove the swimsuit from her buttcrack.

Nice boobies , nice folds in the swimsuit where it needs to be ... nice belly ... done really well.. as I expected. Swimsuit is multicolored.

good finish good colors and so on.

Out of all my figurines i think i may have to take some points of their face score. This one is so pretty it hurts. The hair looks cool. Its detailed just like the face .Also if you buy one... take a look at the ear...

Great posture,fingers and arms are so detailed... absolutely excelent.

She's posed like she is greeting her friends in the schoolyard. A natural pose.. Its a very stable pose.

The little bows and details on this figure is amazing. Folds in the skirt. And the tiny folds in her shirt .... looks soooo wicked. Her sleeves also look long and that adds to her cuteness factor.Even detailed folds on her shoes..

Might wanna add that you can remove her skirt. It reveals her pantsu :D

Oh my .. the details are amazing compared to all my other ones... Colors are great . I couldn't find a single paint boo boo.

Detailed, color nice, this one is now definetly one of my favorites. But then again I bought it and I picked something that looks nice.

I cannot stress this enough ... i don't like the face on this figurine. As much as I love the rest... it just looks off... Especially the mouth.

A power logo on her boob, Good lookin body contours...strong Lots of little details.

Good pose but it was kinda hard getting the wire attached and placed right,.Makes for a good stable position though

She has armor... not clothing :D what could be bad about that?

Some jagged edges here and there and the paint in the "glowy" parts was kinda outside of the lines (sloppy) at some points

The swimsuit strap is over her shoulder which shows off her bandages. Besides that its the generic school swimsuit we all know.She is wearing some kind of socks on her feet.

I don't know why but.. thats how it is.

The hair and face look awesome. She has a bit of a sad look. Coloring is done great... The eyes look good. and the hair is good and they even cast a good shadow.

One thing that does bother me is the bandages... as much as its fitting for the character (Always ending at the wrong end of a very loud explosion or sharp object)

I'd like her a lot more without the bandages...

The base is made of hard plastic but its neatly done... works great and gives it a real swimmingpool look.

You might wanna watch out for the smell of pvc .. as even after several months the pvc smell is still there.

Very good worth for your money! its a steal!
